Hi, I'm Joe, a sound designer and a postgraduate student in Sound and Music for Interactive Games at Leeds Beckett University.

I am an avid gamer. I've been into games since I was little, the first game I ever played was 'Fable: The Lost Chapters' for the original Xbox.
I've been passionate about audio and music since for a long time. When I started uni, I gained an obsession and interest in game audio and sound design - this has been my goal ever since. I arranged my uni modules with a focus on game audio through electives that I had chosen.

Favourite Games for Audio
-
Halo Infinite - The weapons are awesome, very visceral, impacting and reactive sounds.
-
Cyberpunk 2077 - Incredible detail into the whole sci-fi, dystopian genre (My favourite sounds are the glitchy sounds featured in the UI, and the overengineered vehicles to match the setting)
-
Alien Isolation - This game scared the life out of me with its threatening audio, making the player feel like they are never safe; keeping you on your toes. The use of ambience is EXTREMELY effective, one-shot sounds around the player making them judge every movement.
-
Doom (2016) - Awesome soundtrack, heavy-hitting weapon design and tremendously exaggerated gore sounds
-
Skyrim - The magic sounds are extremely representative of the visuals, and the ambiences are detailed through the many environments such as a forest, mountain top castle, or even an inn where the player can rest.
